Today I had the honour of standing in the House of Commons to ask Minister Patty Hadju about her recent trip to my riding of Sault Ste. Marie, and others, and to highlight the great work this Government is doing for the First Nation workforce and communities that are so vital for our economy.
As the fastest growing segment of the Canadian workforce – the economic success of the Sault and many other areas depend greatly on the inclusion, prosperity and security of these communities; and why we as a nation must offer support and opportunities.
Programs such as the First Nation Infrastructure Fund that invests in communities, and The First Nations and Inuit Skills Link Program illustrate what this Government aims to achieve. These programs will ensure that communities acquire the essential skills and investment that will help them gain employment, function well in the workplace, and learn about job and career options.
