On February 13th, the Prime Minister, as minister of Youth, announced the launch of a national dialogue on the first-ever youth policy for Canada. This dialogue will offer a platform for youth to share their views and engage in discussions about matters that are important to them.
We encourage all youth from diverse backgrounds and regions to take their leadership role in Canada’s future. Here, participants can answer questions, engage in a discussion with their peers, or submit video comments. This feedback will help guide the development of the policy.
All youth from the riding of Sault Ste. Marie are encouraged to participate in this discussion on the policy that will affect them. To join the discussion visits the website youthaction.ca on social media using the hashtag #CdaYouthAction.
In addition to providing feedback online, you may also become an ambassador and host your own roundtable discussion with other youth in your area. Here is a toolkit to help get you started.
Once developed, Canada’s first ever youth policy will provide a guiding vision for the Government of Canada’s priorities, investments, and support for Canada’s youth. It will also ensure that young Canadians’ perspectives and ideas are incorporated into government action and decision-making in a way that has meaning to them.
