Terry Sheehan congratulates Chief-Elect Bell on victory.

I would like to congratulate Chief-Elect Sergeant Karen Bell on her victory on Tuesday. I look forward to working with the Chief-Elect in supporting members of Garden River First Nation, their priorities, and working to bridge inequality gaps Indigenous people face. I look forward to meeting with the Chief Elect & Council in the near future to discuss priorities, how I can support them, and how we can work together to further Garden River's initiatives and needs from the federal government.

I would also like to congratulate Councillors-Elect Kari Barry, Darwin Belleau, Lee Ann Gamble, Kristy Dawn Jones, Travis N. Jones, Chester Langille, Luanne Povey and Candace Sim on their victories last night. I am hopeful and look forward to working with them to support their initiatives on council, and in the community.

I would like to thank outgoing Chief Andy Rickard & Councillors for their years of service to Garden River First Nation. I have enjoyed working closely with Chief Rickard & Council throughout the years, accomplishing many goals and moving projects of Garden River forward. Further, Chief Rickard, I would like to thank you for your role in reconciliation, and for your guidance while I, and the government, walk the path of reconciliation.

I would like to thank all candidates who put their names forward for office. Public office and participation in public administration is the pillar to a well functioning Council. I hope each and every one of you will continue to work on projects and goals that are important to you.
